HARRISBURG, March 25 – The House State Government and Education committees will hold a joint hearing tomorrow on how the sharp economic downturn facing the nation and the Commonwealth has impacted the state's pension funds.
The public hearing will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26 in Room 140 Main Capitol building.
At the hearing, the Public Employees Retirement Commission and the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System will brief the committees on the status of the state pension funds, offer insight into any actions that are being utilized to stem further losses and advise if any legislative action is needed to help protect these funds.
