Legislative Initiatives
Civil Rights - Private Property:
I am concerned about landowners being held liable for hunting accidents on their land and have voted to preserve their civil rights to private property. See my letter here (PDF).
Overworked Nurses:
I am alarmed because nurses are forced to work excessive overtime hours in Pennsylvania. I voted for legislation to end this practice which is dangerous to patients. See my letter of concern here (PDF).
Protecting Hunting:
I am troubled, because hunting, a wholesome, clean, outdoor sport, is

Cervical Cancer Vaccine:
Embryonic Stem Cell Research:
I am pushing for prompt embryonic stem cell research in Pennsylvania so we can compete for the best scientific minds, make our mark in this innovative industry, and help save and improve lives.
Gun Control Bill:
I am a strong advocate for a one gun per month purchase limit, and for more restrictions for concealed weapon permits.
Tax on All Tobacco Products:
Although I have successfully helped pass bills to increase the tax on cigarettes, I am pushing for a blanket tax that would cover all tobacco products and thus further limit consumption of tobacco in its other equally harmful forms like chaw, spit, and pipe tobacco including cigars and cigarillos.
