How Do I Register to Vote?

- You can request that a form be mailed to you by the . Be sure to include your full name, address, and number of forms you are requesting in your email request.
- You can also obtain a voter registration from your county Elections office, your neighborhood post office, library, state liquor store, or from the office of any public elected official. After you have completed and mailed in your registration form to the county registration office, you will be notified by mail by your county registration office when you are officially registered.
Am I Eligible to Vote?
- To vote in Pennsylvania on Election Day you must meet two requirements:
- You are Eligible to Vote if: you are a U.S. citizen, AND you will be 18 years of age by Election Day (you do not have to be 18 when you register), AND you are a resident of Pennsylvania.
- You must register to vote not later than 30 days prior to the election.
- Note: If you have voted in an election after January 1998, you should still be registered. If you are unsure about your registration status, you should register to vote to protect your right to participate in this election (or call your local Election Board to confirm your status as a registered voter – for Philadelphia the phone number is 215.686.1505).
- You Need to Re-register if you have moved; OR you have changed your name through marriage or for any other reason; OR you have failed to vote since BEFORE 1995; OR you encountered a mix-up in your registration records at the last election and needed a court order to vote. (Remember: an Election Court order is only good for that Election Day.)
What if I Need Assistance in the Voting Booth?
- A voter may have assistance in voting if he or she is unable to see or mark the ballot, operate the voting machine, or enter the voting machine booth without assistance. If the voter has not already indicated on his or her Registration Record that he or she will require assistance in voting, then that voter may fill out a declaration at the polling place on Election Day.
